PRESENTS
"Voices Across the Crooked River:
A Tale of School Desegregation"
(a performance and panel discussion)
Conceived and directed by award-winning actress-educator Rasheryl McCreary, “Voices Across the Crooked River: A Tale of School Desegregation” is a theater piece developed and performed by Cleveland Municipal School District (CMSD) Early College students. From families to educators, students to legislators, a diverse group of citizens, pro and con, were interviewed for this project. Their stories became the collective theater piece that captures the personal, human experiences of individuals who were involved in various aspects of the school desegregation process in Cleveland.
The goal of this very special civic event is to educate, awaken and inspire the community of Cleveland to engage in a dialogue about the history of school desegregation in our city, and what our legacy will be on this issue.
A PANEL DISCUSSION FOLLOWS THE PERFORMANCE.

Michael Charney Cleveland Teacher’s Union
